MELVILLE, NY (Aug. 4, 2009) – Nikon Inc. continues its tradition of innovation, design and performance with the introduction of four new COOLPIX Style Series compact digital cameras. Building on the success of Nikon’s previous touch-screen models, the ultra-stylish COOLPIX S70 features an enhanced interface and organic light-emitting diode (OLED) display technology for a new user experience, housed in a stylish camera body. The COOLPIX S1000pj features the world’s first built-in projector, which enables consumers to share their images and videos in an all-new fun way. Additionally, the COOLPIX S640 and COOLPIX S570, leaders in speed and affordability, respectively, complete the new smarter, cooler, simpler COOLPIX line.
“These latest Nikon COOLPIX digital cameras reflect hallmarks of the COOLPIX line: performance, design and innovation,” said Bill Giordano, general manager marketing, COOLPIX for Nikon Inc. “With new features such as a built-in projector and new touch controls for viewing, shooting and zooming, these COOLPIX cameras will appeal to users of every level.”
The Nikon COOLPIX cameras incorporate Nikon’s world-class NIKKOR lenses, delivering accurate detail and brilliant color, as well as Nikon’s EXPEEDTM digital image processing concept, which ensures high-quality pictures with stunning color and sharpness. POWERFUL NEW L100 PACKS PERFORMANCE, HIGH-POWERED ZOOM AND ADVANCE FUNCTIONS INTO AN EASY TO USE CAMERA
The L100 Boasts 15x Zoom and High-Speed Shooting
MELVILLE, NY (Feb. 2, 2009) – Nikon Inc. today introduced the new L100, a powerful photographic tool that blends ease-of-use with advanced shooting functions. Optimized for action shots, high-powered zoom and simple operation, the L100 is equipped and ready to help capture every precious moment with quality and clarity that will make lasting memories an even greater joy. The L100 is one of three new L-Series cameras announced today. For consumers seeking a fully-featured camera at a competitive price, Nikon also introduced the L20 and L19, presenting consumers with a strong value proposition.
"The L100 represents a fantastic choice for the family photographer who needs to capture everything from soccer games to portraits,” said Bill Giordano, General Manager Marketing, COOLPIX for Nikon Inc. "It also extends our tradition of previous L-Series cameras, combining ease-of-use, high performance and a tremendous value for consumers."
The L100 achieves its versatility through its 15x Optical Zoom-NIKKOR lens. Covering 28mm wide-angle to 420mm super-telephoto shooting, the lens’ broad focal range can readily handle everything from landscapes and group shots, to tight close-ups and shots taken from a distance.
Additional features of the 10.0-megapixel L100 include:
• Large, bright 3.0-inch high-resolution LCD with anti-reflection coating for easy composition and reviewing of images.
• New Sport Continuous Scene Mode for shooting at up to 13fps* (up to 30 frames when consumers set the resolution to 3MP or lower). This high-speed capture setting helps photographers stay ahead of the action, whether on the football, baseball or soccer fields.
• 4-Way Vibration Reduction (VR) Image Stabilization
o Optical VR image stabilization compensates for the effects of camera shake by moving the image sensor, producing clearer, sharper results in lower lighting or unsteady conditions.
o Motion Detection automatically detects moving subjects and adjusts shutter speed and the ISO setting to compensate for camera shake and subject movement.
o High ISO 3200** capability creates new opportunities to take sharper, more natural-looking photos in lower light conditions.
o Nikon’s original Best Shot Selector (BSS) automatically takes up to 10 shots while the user presses the shutter, and saves the sharpest image.
• Smart Portrait System, which integrates the following to make it a snap to capture stunning portrait photos of friends and family:
o In-Camera Red-Eye Fix™, which automatically fixes most instances of red-eye.
o Enhanced Face-Priority AF, which can detect up to 12 faces from a variety of angles, including straight on, from the side, or even in a multitude of three-quarter positions.
o Smile Mode, which automatically detects when your subject smiles and releases the shutter.
o Blink Warning, which displays a warning message, should the camera detect that the subject has blinked.
The new L100 camera will be available nationwide beginning April 2009 and will retail for $279.95.
COOLPIX L20 and L19
Nikon complements the L100 with two new cameras that successfully blend features and price to create a strong value proposition. The L19 (8.0 megapixels) and L20 (10 megapixels) cameras leverage proven Nikon innovations, including NIKKOR Glass Lenses, EXPEED™ Digital Image Processing concept, Smart Portrait System, Motion Detection and Easy Auto Mode with Scene Auto Selector. These features combine to create digital compact cameras that combine high performance with outstanding operating ease.
The design of the L19 and L20 cameras complement Nikon’s technology innovation to offer ease-of-use, versatility and portability. For example, the large high-resolution 3.0-inch (L20) and 2.7-inch (L19) LCD monitors offer a bright image that consumers can easily view, even outdoors. The cameras also include dedicated buttons on the top of the body, which make it easy for consumers to switch between shooting and playback modes, as well as contours on the large thumb rest and the body itself to ensure a solid grip. Finally, the cameras are powered by (2) AA-batteries, available anywhere.

“Our portfolio of cameras is designed to ensure that any photographer, at any level can find the camera that feels right for them,” said Bill Giordano, General Manager Marketing, COOLPIX for Nikon Inc. “The P90 blends the best of the digital compact and D-SLR camera worlds, allowing the more advanced consumer to really stretch their photographic capabilities.”
The key to the versatility of the P90 is its 24x Optical Wide Angle Zoom-NIKKOR ED Glass Lens. This lens offers unbeatable compositional freedom, with its wide angle (26mm) to super telephoto coverage (624mm). The broad range lets consumers capture a variety of shots and scenes, ranging from sweeping landscapes to close-up action shots taking place on a sports field.
Additional features of the P90 include:
• 12.1 megapixels for stunning prints as large as 20 x 30 inches, while retaining fine detail.
• 3.0-inch Vari-Angle High Resolution LCD and Electronic Viewfinder make it easy to compose and share pictures with friends and family. The new LCD, with anti-reflection coating, can tilt as much as 90 degrees upward or 45 degrees downward. This enables photographers to shoot from higher angles or from the hip, and thereby make the best use of the reach and range of the 24x zoom lens. The incorporation of the high-resolution electronic viewfinder enables consumers to see through the lens in any lighting condition.
• 4-Way Vibration Reduction (VR) Image Stabilization
o Optical VR image stabilization compensates for the effects of camera shake by moving the image sensor, producing clearer, sharper results in lower lighting or unsteady conditions.
o Motion Detection automatically detects moving subjects and adjusts shutter speed and the ISO setting to compensate for camera shake and subject movement.
o High ISO 6400**capability creates new opportunities to take sharper, more natural-looking photos in lower light conditions (ISO 3200 and 6400) .
o Nikon’s original Best Shot Selector (BSS) automatically takes up to 10 shots while the user presses the shutter, and saves the sharpest image.
• Program, Shutter Priority, Aperture Priority and Manual Exposure modes give ultimate control over images. The D-SLR-type mode-dial on the top of the camera offers consumers greater personal and creative control, in any type of lighting condition.
• New Sport Continuous Scene Mode for shooting at up to 15fps* (up to 45 frames). This high-speed capture setting helps photographers stay ahead of the action.
• Smart Portrait System, which integrates the following to make it a snap to capture stunning portrait photos of friends and family:
o In-Camera Red-Eye Fix™, which automatically fixes most instances of red-eye.
o Enhanced Face-Priority AF, which can detect up to 12 faces from a variety of angles, including straight on, from the side, or even in a multitude of three-quarter positions.
o Smile Mode, which automatically detects when your subject smiles and releases the shutter.
o Blink Proof, which automatically takes two shots and saves the one in which the subject’s eyes are open.
The P90 will be available nationwide in March 2009 and will retail at $399.95.

NEW COOLPIX P6000 OFFERS DIGITAL SLR SHOOTING CONTROL IN A COMPACT CAMERA
New Performance Series Camera Enables Users to Test the Photography World with Creative Control and "Geo-tagging" Capabilities with built-in GPS
MELVILLE, NY (Aug. 7, 2008) - Nikon Inc. today introduced its newest flagship COOLPIX compact camera, the COOLPIX P6000. Featuring 13.5 megapixels, a new, built-in global positioning system (GPS) unit, my Picturetown connectivity and the power of Nikon's exclusive EXPEED™ image processing concept, the P6000 offers the perfect photographic tool for photo and camera enthusiasts seeking the creative control of a D-SLR in the compact body of a COOLPIX camera.
"We are eager to see the response to the integration of the new capabilities for COOLPIX cameras, as the demands of our consumers are always a priority in product design," said Bill Giordano, general manager marketing, COOLPIX for Nikon Inc. "The P6000 is an exciting product offering for Nikon's COOLPIX line, as it not only provides expanded creative control for photo enthusiasts, but also empowers them with GPS functionality and my Picturetown connectivity."
The P6000 knows where the "best shots" are taken, thanks to the integration of the new GPS unit. With the added GPS function, P6000 users will be able to record "geotags" of the location where their images are captured based on latitudinal and longitudinal coordinates. This further heightens the photographic experience, allowing users to pinpoint the location via maps available in Nikon ViewNX Software, my Picturetown, Nikon’s photo sharing and storage website, or any other software or website that recognizes GPS data.
Additionally, the P6000 makes my Picturetown connectivity for uploading and sharing photos simple and easy, thanks to added wired LAN support via a dedicated Ethernet port built into the camera. Users can upload their images and data directly from the P6000 with an Ethernet cable to the secure Picture Bank service on my Picturetown.
In line with other COOLPIX P-Series cameras, the P6000 includes intuitive controls via dedicated command and mode dials, providing easy access to shooting controls and exposure mode settings. The P6000 offers Programmed Auto [P], Shutter-priority Auto [S], Aperture-priority Auto [A] and Manual [M] modes granting users the ability to tap into the creativity of D-SLR functions while maintaining the simplicity of COOLPIX functionality. Owners can utilize two user-defined settings, a shooting menu, an efficient, tabbed menu interface, as well as customizable Function buttons to quickly switch between camera settings.
Additional shooting innovations engineered to maximize image quality and offer greater control over the final results include Nikon’s original COOLPIX Picture Control System and a new NRW* (RAW) support. The COOLPIX Picture Control System features intuitive controls that enable users to adjust their images to pre-set parameters such as Standard, Neutral, Vivid and Monochrome and apply tweaks to image sharpening, tone compensation, brightness, overall tone and saturation. Furthermore, images shot in the all-new NRW* (RAW) format can be opened and viewed in Nikon ViewNX Software (available early October 2008) for increased editing abilities.
Adding even more synergy between D-SLR cameras and compact COOLPIX cameras, the P6000 incorporates a pop-up flash, optical viewfinder for easy composition and the added bonus of system expansion with an optional convertor, Speedlights, and wireless remote control. Nikon's new 0.76x Wide-angle Convertor WC-E76 offers users the option to utilize focal lengths as wide as 21mm (35mm format equivalent). P6000 users can also take full advantage of Nikon's Creative Lighting System with the built-in accessory shoe that supports Nikon's i-TTL flash control, which enables wireless control over one group of remote Speedlights including the newly announced SB-900 Speedlight.
The P6000 features a quality finish and a front panel constructed of solid Magnesium alloy, as well as a comfortable grip and well-placed controls for streamlined performance. The new P6000 camera is compatible with new high-capacity SDHC cards, and utilizes a Nikon EN-EL5 rechargeable Li-ion battery. The P6000 also comes bundled with the COOLPIX Software Suite for editing, organizing and sharing images.
The Nikon COOLPIX P6000 will be available nationwide beginning September 2008 at a MSRP of $499.95.** For more information about the P6000 and other COOLPIX cameras, please visit www.nikonusa.com.

NRW (RAW) files are compatible for use in-camera, with ViewNX (Windows version only, available early October 2008) or with WIC-based applications. Results are based on IDC’s ongoing research on wireless connectivity, digital camera market research and a consumer survey on the adoption of wireless digital cameras and their propensity to embrace the capability in future camera purchases.
With each new digital camera generation, Nikon continues to streamline the photo-sharing process through wireless technology, making it easier than ever to share and send pictures without the confines of wires and cables or even computers! The new white paper from IDC states “To date, Nikon is the only digital camera manufacturer to consistently and fully embrace wireless photography. IDC predicts that other top vendors will seek to catch up and embrace wireless photography as well, spurring industry-wide adoption.”
“As the speed and dependability of wireless networks grow, image quality and ease-of-use in digital cameras continue to build. Nikon’s aim is to give the pioneers and the participants of the new web 2.0 an easy way to share not only their photos, but also their lives,” says Bill Giordano, General Manager of Marketing, COOLPIX for Nikon Inc. “Wireless features have advanced significantly since 2005, with changes that consumers can now embrace and easily understand, especially with the recent introduction of the COOLPIX S51c and my Picturetown.”
So how important is the ability to share? The white paper states that 60 percent of respondents cite that they would be somewhat or much more likely to consider one camera over another should it include wireless connectivity. What’s more, respondents said that they would be willing to pay up to $86 more for a camera with this ability.
Nikon continues to enhance this technology to be user friendly and effective based on the needs of consumers. The IDC survey states that 43 percent of U.S. digital camera owners recognized that wireless connectivity is an important feature in choosing a digital camera, and with good reason. Nikon’s wireless COOLPIX S51c camera allows the user to share the photos and movie clips anywhere there is an open access Wi-Fi hotspot. At home, in the office, in a coffee house, airport, a user can simply press a button and have photos sent to email addresses, published to Web sites, or posted on photo sharing communities such as Flickr or Nikon’s own my Picturetown. Business professionals working in the field, such as real estate and building contractors, can utilize Wi-Fi to send pictures directly to prospective buyers or business partners, quicker and easier than connecting the camera and downloading pictures to a computer before sending the image.
Additionally, Nikon engineers digital cameras to enhance not only image quality, but also the “photo-sharing experience” by partnering with service providers T-Mobile®, allowing the user to send images and videos to my Picturetown from over 8,200 T-Mobile® HotSpots® nationwide* and Flickr®, one of the world’s leading photo sharing communities, to provide consumers with more sharing and viewing options. IDC believes “Nikon's courage in opening its technology is critical for wireless photography to be fully embraced by consumers, and positions the firm well in future consumer mindsets as the manufacturer that helps, rather than hinders, product usage.”

Slim Models Blend Sophisticated Styling and Construction with Advanced Performance
MELVILLE, NY (August 30, 2007) - Nikon is pleased to introduce two Style series cameras that offer fast response and outstanding photographic performance. Developed for the savvy consumer who appreciates style and demands speed, the 12.1 megapixel S700 and 8.1 megapixel S510 digital cameras deliver increased resolution for high quality photos from the 3x Zoom-Nikkor glass lens, and Optical Vibration Reduction image stabilization technology. "With the S700 and S510, Nikon is further distinguishing itself as a leader in compact camera design and innovation," says Bill Giordano, General Manager Marketing, COOLPIX for Nikon Inc. "These cameras combine elegant yet sophisticated compact designs with quick response to capture any memorable moment."
The COOLPIX S700 and S510 feature several imaging innovations designed to encourage carefree shooting for the consumer. Both cameras incorporate Optical Vibration Reduction (VR) image stabilization, a feature that helps to overcome camera shake to ensure sharp photos at shutter speeds up to three times slower than would normally be possible. They also offer High ISO capabilities: the S700 up to 3200, and the S510 up to ISO 2000, ideal for capturing images in low-light situations.
For sharing and composing, the S700 and S510 have incredibly bright, high resolution 2.7-inch and 2.5-inch LCD monitors, respectively, with an anti-reflective coating, easing the composition of photos, even in direct sunlight. High performance and superior image quality are the hallmarks of the COOLPIX P5000. This includes everything from the new image optimization settings, which offer a choice of four color filters for shooting with monochrome filter effects, to barrel distortion control, which can correct images when using a wide-angle converter and can display the corrected image on the LCD in real time.
The COOLPIX P5000 has three Nikon In-Camera Image Innovations to correct common photo problems. This system includes Face-priority AF**, which can automatically find and focus on a subject's face, In-Camera Red-Eye Fix, which automatically corrects red-eye, and D-Lighting, an innovation that automatically creates a copy of the image with detail added where necessary, but with well-exposed areas left completely untouched. Additionally, the L Series cameras include handy features such as scene modes, which set the camera for optimum performance in a variety of shooting locations, and a TV Quality Movie Mode for recording video with sound.
The COOLPIX L10, L11 and L12 feature a sleek, stylish finish and a curved grip that contributes to both design elegance and shooting stability. NEW NIKON COOLPIX S10 ADDS VIBRATION REDUCTION TO A POWERFUL 10X OPTICAL ZOOM FOR IMPRESSIVE PICTURES FROM ANY ANGLE
Nikon's popular compact unique body design, enhanced image quality and picture sharing features make the COOLPIX S10 a great camera for parents, travelers, concert and sporting enthusiasts
MELVILLE, NY (August 24, 2006) - Nikon announced today the addition of a 10x zoom camera with image stabilization to the COOLPIX Style series line-up. The new COOLPIX S10 features an incredible 10x optical Zoom-Nikkor glass lens, Vibration Reduction (VR), 6.0 effective megapixels, a 2.5, LCD and an innovative, compact swivel design allowing the long-zoom camera to fit into a shirt pocket. The 10x powerful, optical zoom combined with Nikon's VR and innovative body design gives digital photographers unprecedented freedom and creativity with the ability to take pictures from a wide range of angles such as overhead, from the hip and even self portraits.
"Creativity is written all over this camera. This stylish camera, with a 10x optical zoom, Vibration Reduction and Nikon's expansive in-camera technology, is great to take to a sporting event, concerts, vacation and just about anywhere," said Bill Giordano, General Manager Marketing, COOLPIX for Nikon, Inc. "The COOLPIX S10 makes it easy to take great-looking pictures from almost any angle."
With a distinctive wave-surface design and a high-quality finish, the COOLPIX S10 is as attractive as the images it captures. But even more impressive, the COOLPIX S10 features 6.0 effective megapixel image resolution as well as a built-in 38-380mm (35mm equivalent) 10x Zoom-Nikkor lens - making it easy to compose everything from close portraits to wide-open scenery with fine detail and vivid color. The S10 provokes creativity with the camera's swivel body design, and a bright 2.5-inch LCD, which allows users to frame shots with accuracy.
The COOLPIX S10 features a handy One-Touch Portrait Button that provides direct access to three unique Nikon In-Camera Image Innovations to fix common photo problems. This system includes Face-priority AF*, which automatically finds and focuses on a subject's face, In-Camera Red-Eye Fix, which automatically corrects red-eye, and D-Lighting, an innovation that automatically corrects images with insufficient light. The S10 is equipped with Blur Warning, which alerts the user when an image is blurred and Best Shot Selector, a feature that automatically identifies and saves the sharpest image from a series. Taking convenience even further, the COOLPIX S10 with its supplied rechargeable lithium-ion battery, can take up to 300 shots on a single charge. The COOLPIX S10 is PictBridge compatible so there's no need to use a computer at all when printing - just connect the camera straight to a PictBridge-compatible printer and print directly, easily and without delay.
With the advantage of Vibration Reduction (VR) capability, the COOLPIX S10 allows users to overcome camera shake to take sharper, more stable pictures in a range of shooting situations. Since the camera offers increased light sensitivity, up to an impressive ISO 800, users can get great-looking results in lower light without the need for an extended exposure.
An ample choice of Scene modes makes operation even easier in a wide range of common shooting situations. Simply select the most appropriate mode and the COOLPIX S10 automatically determines and sets the optimum combination of settings. In all, there are 15 Scene modes to choose from and 4 of them feature Scene assist, which helps users to achieve more attractive composition. The COOLPIX S10 adds new entertainment to photography with Nikon's Pictmotion function that lets users combine images, movies, music and visual styles for automatically produced audiovisual shows, in-camera. And because the LCD of the COOLPIX S10 has an impressively wide viewing angle of 170 degrees, it's easy for everyone to gather and watch Pictmotion shows together.
Simply select any favorite movies and images, decide on a visual style, and then pick one of 5 music files pre-installed in the camera or load up to 3** of your own to compliment the mood. The COOLPIX S10 then automatically combines these elements to produce a polished production with transitions between images and movies synchronized to the choice of music.
The S10 includes 16 MB of internal memory and operates on an EN-EL5 Lithium-ion rechargeable battery and charger.
The S10 will be available at retail nationwide in September 2006 with an MSRP of $399.95. For more information on the S10 and other COOLPIX cameras, please visit www.nikondigital.com.

Nikon added a High-Sensitivity mode in order to make the most of the camera's exceptionally high light sensitivity by choosing the optimal setting up to ISO 1600 for the shooting of fast-moving subjects or sharper results in lower light.
Extending the enjoyment beyond shooting, the COOLPIX S7c offers Pictmotion, a function that lets users select their favorite images and movies as well as music** and visual styles ready for the COOLPIX S7c to combine them automatically in-camera to produce audiovisual shows that can be enjoyed anywhere on the huge built-in LCD. Furthermore, the COOLPIX S7c features a new Stop-Motion movie function that lets users create fun animated movies.
With the incorporation of a Rotary Multi Selector, users can easily scroll their way through the newly designed menu system or breeze through picture playback at up to 10 frames per second. Nikon's In-Camera Image Innovations add to the convenience of the L5 by giving users the power to automatically improve images in-camera. For ease of use, the COOLPIX L5 is equipped with a One-Touch Portrait Button, which activates Nikon's In-Camera Innovations. This system includes Face-priority AF*, which automatically finds and focuses on a subject's face, In-Camera Red-Eye Fix, which automatically corrects red-eye, and D-Lighting, an innovation that automatically corrects images with insufficient light. The L5 is equipped with Blur Warning, which alerts the user when an image is blurred and Best Shot Selector, a feature that identifies and saves the sharpest image from a series automatically.
In addition, the COOLPIX L5 offers TV quality movie recording with sound in modes ideal to be played on televisions and computers.
Compact and easy-to-carry with a smooth and elegant design, the L5 packs an incredible amount of technology into a palm-sized camera. The L5 is compatible with AA-size batteries in alkaline, lithium, oxy-nickel and rechargeable forms to keep you shooting while on the move. For storage, the camera has 8 MB of internal memory and is compatible with an array of SD memory cards.
The COOLPIX L5 even simplifies printing with PictBridge, and is USB compatible for transferring pictures to computers and other peripherals. A complimentary copy of PictureProject is included with the L5 for importing, editing and organizing images.
